Bessa Myftiu is a novelist, poet, essayist, translator, screenwriter, and actress. Born in Tirana, she has been living in Switzerland since 1991. She wrote the screenplays for the films I Love Era and Yllka, in which she plays the lead role.
Author of eleven books in French, she has published in Albanian the poetry collection Lost Friends, the novels Tales from Forgotten Lands & Love in the Time of Communism, the short story collection Towards the Impossible, and the novella Days of Solitude.
